Future Northeast Extension

According to the Calgary Transit 20 Year Plan, an LRT extension to Saddle Ridge is planned to begin construction in 2014 with completion in 2016. This project is expected to cost at least $84 million. This project is currently unfunded.

The February 2004 revision of the Plan has excluded this project from the 20-year timeline. This project will likely be completed beyond 2023.

Update: This extension was approved by City Council on November 6, 2007.
The cost will be $86 million and 6 additional LRVs costing $24 million will be required. More details to come.
